Time for moving on
The house is sold, we are packing up, it's time to go. We are off to the gourmet epicentre of France - Gascony. I will, next year, be running residential cooking classes - so watch this space. In the meantime there will be loads to do to get the place ready and a kitchen garden started. I'm sure we will find time to laze in the pool and gaze at the mountains too.
I hope for lots of fresh ideas for new recipes and am looking forward to the markets.

Thanks for the ramsons pesto recipe: I've always enjoyed a leaf with cheese, they go well. You've been spelling it like you were rescuing someone from kidnappers - the 'm' comes before the 'n'!
I've solved the watercress problem - I grow land cress. Might be spicier, it's green all winter (here in Cheshire), doesn't need running water - just soil, and if you let it, it'll self seed itself. If you need seed, can send for a SAE.
Hee hee - I think that's spellcheckers gone mad. And me not being awake enough with proofing: thank you for your correction! I always double check cardamom.
Yes, I've grown landcress and other greenery such as mache and rocket. I also use nasturtium leaves later in the year. The soil in my new garden is challenging (!) to say the least and it could be a while before my potager really gets going.
Thanks for the offer and your comments
